Whether you are just getting started, hoping to keep up with friends on a group ride, looking to tackle your first race, or are a seasoned cyclist wanting to improve your racing performance, I would love to help you level up with structured training and accountability.
I offer one on one coaching and structured plans to help you meet your goals as an athlete.
Training plans are custom-built for your goals, and written to fit with your personal work and life schedules. Consistent communication keeps you focused, motivated, and informed throughout your training.
For new athletes, the initial consultation will include a conversation about your training history and goals, as well as establishment of training zones for perceived effort (RPE), heart rate, or power (depending on your equipment), identification of your needs, and overview of the training plan. All training is facilitated via a Training Peaks account.
I have been a long time cyclist and getting more and more competitive as the years go by but I had never had a coach before. I saw Coach Abi’s post about being recently certified and knowing her disciplines and mine matched I figured I would reach out which was the best choice I have made in a while. She understands coaching is more than just giving workouts and that is probably one of the smallest parts but the mental and personal side is just as important. Base training package ($125 monthly) includes bi-weekly e-mail or phone client-initiated contact as well as weekly evaluation and feedback on training files. Training is written monthly and will be adjusted based on athlete needs.
Advanced training package ($175 monthly) includes unlimited coach-client contact and mid-training cycle consultations/adjustments to training, as well as more consistent monitoring of training files for progress and fatiguing. Training is written weekly and guided by athlete feedback. This package offers the highest level of feedback, attention, and coach contact (daily, if desired).
For athletes who are not interested in the higher level of communication included in the full training packages, but want the structure and accountability of a training plan that is individualized for their general life patterns and goals, a seasonal 12-week training plan is available for $150. This training program will be individualized for your needs, and can give you the guidance you need to stay consistent and improve your fitness.
In addition to performance coaching, I also offer basic mountain bike skills instruction. Individual or small-group skills clinics can be arranged either here in Roanoke, VA, or at your location. Private skills instruction is $100/hour and group clinics start at $50/hour per rider with a minimum of three participants.
I believe that the success of a coach-athlete relationship is determined in large part by the partnership between the athlete and the coach.
